About Revisit Publishing

The Revisit Publishing blog features practical articles about desktop publishing, self-publishing, publishing using a traditional printing company and publishing using self-publishing websites.
The blog (and the Revisit Publishing website) is edited and published by Paul Gooch, a freelance publisher who has successfully created several publications using the desktop publishing system.
Confusion over desktop publishing and self-publishing
There might be some confusion over what constitutes desktop publishing and what constitutes self-publishing. It might seem as if they mean the same thing.
If someone produces a publication using the desktop publishing system, surely they are also self-publishing it? They are literally publishing it themselves,  so surely this means they are self-publishing it.
Not necessarily so, because it’s possible to produce a publication using the desktop publishing system and self-publish it using a self-publishing website.
To clarify things, at the time of writing this article (23rd. April 2009,)
the Revisit Publishing series of publications is published entirely using the first option.
It is published using the desktop publishing system and it is self-published by myself, ie. it isn’t self-published by using a self-publishing website.
